limiting beliefs

Believe it or not, what we believe matters!

Many people are held back by what are called "limiting beliefs". These are the negative beliefs that we pick up through life's challenges. "I'm not good enough", "I don't deserve success", "I'm unlovable", these are just a few of the unlimited limiting beliefs that exist.

People's sabotaging beliefs work in many ways. Here's just 2 examples of how "I'm not good enough" plays out:

1. I'm not good enough so what's the point, it won't happen anyway, so I might as well go back to my comfort zone.
Or
2. I reckon I can get to a whole new level of achievement without making any changes to myself or my habits, so I can just stay in my comfort zone.

Both beliefs are limiting and self-sabotaging. The mind is the master of self sabotage!

One way to discover what are your limiting beliefs is to write them all down. This can be hard at first as many people are unaware of what their limiting beliefs are, or that limiting beliefs even exist!

But start with "Life is" and write down the first thoughts that come to mind.
Then write down "Money is" and see what comes out.
Then write down "My relationship is ...
"Work is ..."
"Exercising is ..."

Target any area of your life that you want to improve.

Any negative statements that come out are limiting beliefs.

You can then manually change them and write new positive beliefs and use them as affirmations. For example if you wrote "exercise sucks" you could change that to "exercise makes me feel strong and happy". If you had something like "my relationship makes me miserable" you could change that to "my relationship is worth the effort to save". It's up to you what you write, but these are some examples.

Write them up and put the new positive affirmations where you can see them. Feel how good it feels to think differently about things.
